Tons of weapons seized from plane

BANGKOK, Thailand Air Force spokesman Capt. Montol Suchookorn said the chartered cargo plane originated in North Korea's capital Pyongyang and requested to land at Bangkok's Don Muang airport to refuel, according to the Bangkok Post Web site.

The newspaper quoted officials as saying the aircraft carried rocket-propelled grenades and other battlefield weapons.

The Nation newspaper Web site quoted government spokesman Panithan Wattanayakorn as saying authorities were investigating the five men, reportedly from Belarus. He declined to say where the aircraft originated or where it was headed.
