Firefighters busy battling different fires

HOUSTON Around 2am, fire crews found flames shooting out of a house along Huckleberry Circle near Sage. That's just a couple miles west of Uptown Park. The fire department says a couple and their adult son got out of the house safely before the fire gutted their home. Firefighters say the mother fell asleep smoking in bed and caught her mattress on fire.

Earlier around 9pm, another team of firefighters responded to a fire north of downtown Houston. This one ripped through an abandoned warehouse along Maury Street near Line. Firefighters did not report any injuries. Arson investigators call the fire suspicious because the warehouse did not have any electricity.
