An officer opened fire overnight while responding to a call in southwest Houston. Police say the officer was checking into reports of a suspicious person with a weapon near Imogene and La Roche. He found a man hiding behind a car, when that man then pointed an object at the officer. The officer then opened fire, hitting the suspect in the arm. The officer was not hurt. It was later determined the object was a dark comb.

The man who was shot was treated at a local hospital and then taken in for questioning.
