Two caught, clerk shot during motel robbery

A clerk shot in the head during a motel robbery in Killeen managed to provide details on two suspects who were then caught near a restaurant. Killeen police say the Motel 6 robbery happened early Thursday. The suspects were located about an hour later outside the Kettle Restaurant.

Police spokeswoman Carroll Smith says the injured 25-year-old clerk, whose name has not been released, was in stable condition when he was transported to a hospital.

Officers around 3:30 a.m. Thursday responded to a 911 call about a motel robbery. The wounded attendant, located inside the motel, managed to speak to police to give details on the suspects.

Formal charges are pending.
