Former constable accused of indecent exposure

HOUSTON After 24 years on the job at Precinct 8, Charles Easterling is now a former deputy constable. He is charged with exposing himself to children.

No one answered the door at his Friendswood home Monday night. According to Friendswood police, this happened two weekends ago. They say Easterling was in his back yard naked when two girls walked by and saw him. Their mother called 911.

We checked it out and Easterling's back yard backs up to Wedgewood Elementary School and some walking trails and nothing obscures the view.

Precinct 8's chief deputy told me when they learned of the investigation, they put Easterling on administrative leave. Then on Friday, Easterling resigned.

"It is very disheartening to have one of your officers under criminal investigation. We've been cooperating with Friendswood police since the beginning," said Chief Deputy Phil Sandlin.

Easterling has also been cooperating. We are told he plans to post a non-arrest bond soon.
