Family reunites after years of separation

November 15, 2009 6:14:54 AM PST
Last week, we brought you the story of Dollie Ann Henson. She was kidnapped when she was just five years old. She says her neighbor kidnapped her and fled to California, where Henson still lives. Relatives were watching our newscast Thursday night. The next day, Henson and her family talked on the phone for the first time in over half a century.

"I hadn't forgot you, because I tried to save you," said family member Donella McDaniel over the phone to Henson. "I tried to save you. Lord knows I did."

The family came together for the first time in 55 years on ABC's Good Morning America Sunday.
