Police say the driver made a U-turn on Uvalde when he heard what he thought was his tire blow out. He stopped at a red light to check it out and found the woman underneath his truck.
"He seemed very upset once he discovered he had run over a person, he was very upset about that cause he did believe he had a blow out. So at this time and the investigation is just beginning, but at this time it doesn't appear as if we are going to charge him," said Sgt. S. Wolverton with the Houston Police Department.
The woman was dragged by the truck for about a mile and died at the scene.
