Visitation policy changes at UTMB

UTMB will no longer allow children under 12 to visit patients in the John Sealy Hospital or the emergency room. [SWINE FLU: Symptoms, questions and answers and more]

The new policy going into effect today at the Galveston hospital is a reaction to the swine flu pandemic.

The hospital will still accept patients of all ages. The policy applies only to visitors. Similar measures are in effect at hospitals across the country, as hospitals try to prevent swine flu from spreading.
