Mistaken identity leads to murder

HOUSTON A man was found fatally shot in west Houston back in July. At that time, police didn't have a motive. But now, there's a new twist to the story.

The shooting happened at an apartment complex on Joel Wheaton Road at Westheimer on July 24. Quincy Taylor, 18, was found dead on a small grassy area. The suspect, Kenneth Wayne Glass, Jr., 33, is charged with murder in the shooting death.

Apparently, Glass was robbed, went looking for the thieves and shot Taylor as he was walking through the apartment complex parking lot. According to court documents, Glass went to a friend's apartment after the shooting claiming he killed someone.

That friend later told investigators Glass was breathing heavy, his clothes were torn, he had blood on him and he had a gun with him. The friend also told police Glass was hiding in the bushes, then jumped out and shot Taylor.

Taylor died of gunshot wounds to the head and torso. Glass is in the Brazoria County Jail on unrelated charges.
