Rabies warning goes out in Huntsville

October 20, 2009 4:45:29 PM PDT
Animal Control officials are sending out a warning to make sure your pets are vaccinated after a bizarre case. A Huntsville woman called police last Wednesday after her cat began attacking her dog. And the cat scratched her as the woman was trying to break up the fight. Tests confirmed the cat had contracted rabies.

In the end, both animals had to be euthanized and the woman is getting rabies treatments. Rabies cases are often linked to bats and raccoons.
