Man and baby killed in car wreck

HOUSTON Houston police reported witness accounts that victim, a 28-year-old man, and his infant passenger were traveling westbound in the 7300 block of Clinton in a silver Pontiac Grand Prix, at a high rate of speed, when the vehicle lost control and swerved into the eastbound lane. A white Ford F-150 pickup truck traveling eastbound on Clinton struck the Pontiac on the passenger side.

Police say the Pontiac then struck a Chevrolet Avalanche that was exiting a private driveway. The male and infant in the Grand Prix were killed and the male driver of the Ford and his juvenile male passenger were transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in unknown conditions. The occupants of the Avalanche were not injured.

The identities of both victims are pending notification to family members by the Harris County Medical Examiner's Office. The investigation is continuing.
