Chuck Norris rides around town today

Chuck Norris and motorcycle riders from all over Houston took to the streets to give kids a boost in self-esteem and discipline. The TV and film star was at Northwest Mall yesterday morning for his "Kick Start Kids" foundation. The cruise from the mall to Conroe was a fundraiser for the organization. In the program, kids are taught how to peacefully resolve conflicts through martial arts training. Norris says it's become very popular at the schools.

"Everybody wants to be in the program," said Norris. "Unfortunately, we can only have 150 kids, but generally it's about 600 kids that want to be in the program, which is unfortunate."

Kick Start is in its 17th year. Six-thousand kids are currently in the program statewide.
