Man, 84, tries to chase down robber

An elderly robbery victim tried to chase down the suspect, but he couldn't catch him. Now police are turning to the public for help in solving the case.On Sunday morning, at about 9:15am, an elderly gentleman was making a purchase at the Walgreens Pharmacy located in the 1600 block of Jackson in Richmond. As the 84-year-old victim was walking up to the register to pay for his items, he had his cash in his hand with his cane. The suspect approached the victim and took the cash out of the victim's hand and ran out the store.

The victim gave chase and saw the suspect leave the scene in a small older model black pickup truck. The suspect is described as a white male, late teens to early twenties, clean shaven, approximately 5'7" to 5'9", weighing approximately 140 to 150 pounds.

This case is being treated as a theft from a person and can be charged as a state jail felony. If anyone has any information on this case or can identify the suspect in the photo, please contact the Richmond Police Department at 281-342-2849.
