Neighborhood targeted in home invasions

HOUSTON The entire neighborhood feels like it's under siege. We're talking about an area that's not very big, just about square blocks in the Richmond Road Estates neighborhood near Bissonnet and Wilcrest.

Neighbors say since Memorial Day at least five home invasions have occurred. The latest one happened just Wednesday morning. Their stories are similar. Three or four men, sometimes wearing masks, charge into the homes, tie up family members and then ransack the house looking for money.

One grandmother and her children were robbed two weeks ago. They were tied up for two hours and thought for certain the robbers would shoot.

Victim Amy Karama recalled, "The way he was dressed, I was just thinking of my life going."

Houston police say they are aware of the robberies in the area, but so far, they do not know if the crimes are connected.
