Officer shoots suspect in NW Houston

A Houston police officer shot and wounded a man who tried to grab the officer's weapon in northwest Houston. Police were executing a search warrant at an apartment at 4211 Sherwood near the Northwest Freeway. Officers ordered three people to the ground in front of the building. As an officer was searching the apartment, the suspect police were seeking confronted the officer and was shot in the abdomen. He is expected to recover.

The officer was not hurt and will be assigned to desk duty. That's standard procedure during an officer-involved shooting.
