Pair charged in man's killing

HOUSTON Just before midnight on September 10, Darrell Anthony Mouton, 20, of Louisiana, was attending a gathering at a residence on Quail Park Drive. Police say Mouton began arguing with Chelsea Janay White, 19. Following the argument, White allegedly threatened to have acquaintances assault Mouton for insulting her. Mouton and an acquaintance then left the gathering and went to a residence on Bell Blossom.

Police say a short time later, White and two males arrived at the Bell Blossom location and one of the male suspects began to beat Mouton outside the residence. Mouton then ran inside the home and was chased by the male suspect who shot at Mouton one time. The bullet first struck the front door and then struck Mouton in the head. He was taken to Ben Taub Hospital where he was pronounced dead the next day.

Charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon have been filed against Dorian Thomas, 22, and White.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the suspects, Thomas and White, is urged to call the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
