A man police say robbed several people at a night club in northeast Houston had to go to the hospital after a run-in with an off-duty officer overnight. The off-duty policeman was working security at the club near Maury at Line when he spotted the suspect and started running after him. The officer took out his gun after catching up with the robber in a vacant area. That's when the suspect tried to take the weapon from the officer.

"They go to the ground several times," said Victor Senties with the Houston Police Department. "At some point, the suspect manages to get his finger on the trigger of the weapon. The weapon fires. No one was hit."

Another officer showed up and Tasered the suspected robber twice. He was arrested soon after. The off-duty cop was treated on the scene with minor cuts and bruises
