Vandals target memorial in Kingwood

Some residents in Kingwood are outraged after vandals twice targeted a memorial built to honor local servicemen and women. The memorial was put together just three months ago in Sherwood Trails Park. Photos captured the damage from the morning after the second time it was vandalized. Someone trampled the plants at the site.

Whoever did this also tried to damage the American and Texas flags, but they couldn't thanks to a lock and key.

"You can see here where they messed with the lock. This was all tight, now it's loose and for someone to do this is a slap in the face to anybody that has served their country," said Ernest McKelroy, President of the Sherwood Trails.

It took several hundred dollars to repair the damage. The Sherwood Trails Homeowners Association is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in this case.
