Galveston visitors will pay to park

August 28, 2009 2:50:40 PM PDT
It's going to cost you if you want to park in downtown Galveston. City council approved a plan to put 90 new parking meters in the historic district. The first ones will be installed from 19th to 26th streets and from Harborside to Church.

Hurricane Ike destroyed the old parking meters. The new ones will charge a $1.25 an hour. The money will be used to promote the downtown area.
