KATY, TX [SPORTS BLOG: Read the latest from the Eyewitness Sports team]

Prior to this job, Coach Meadows was the Athletic Director of DeSoto ISD in southwest Dallas County. He has been a head football coach for 32 years, leading teams to four state championships, three state runners-up, and 18 district championships.

Todd McVey, who was earlier named interim head coach, will stay on staff at Morton Ranch High School as the campus athletic coordinator. He will oversee the administrative side of the campus' athletic program.

Katy ISD says the purpose of dividing the head football coach and athletic coordinator duties is to adequately support and maintain the development of student athletes during the transitional period.

We first told you a few weeks ago about three Morton Ranch High School football coaches who are suspended, pending an investigation.

One of the three coaches suspended was former Athletic Director Scott Svendsen. All three are accused of violating policies regarding student records, use of funds, and athletic eligibility. The district is still investigating.
