A car slammed into a train in southwest Houston this morning, killing the driver. It happened at Main near Fondren at about 5:30am. Witnesses say the car didn't stop, hitting the train as it was midway through the intersection.

According to police, the driver was riding on the rims of the passenger front and back tires when he slammed into the side of the train. It doesn't appear the driver braked.

The car burst into flames. Police believe the driver was killed on impact with the train. Officers are investigating the possibility that the crash may have been drug or alcohol related. There were no other passengers in the car.
