Men allegedly killed roommate over music

HOUSTON According to police, Freddie Orlando Reyes, 27, and Hugo Salvador Lopez, 25, were drinking and playing loud music in an apartment on Golfcrest in southeast Houston in the early morning hours on Monday. Turcios Villeda Marcial, 25, a roommate of Reyes, reportedly asked the suspects to turn down the music because he had to work in the morning.

Police say the three men began to argue and then fight and Marcial was stabbed several times in the back, neck and torso. Marcial's wrists were then bound and a crime scene was staged to appear as a home invasion. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Further investigation identified Lopez and Reyes as the suspects and later that day both were taken into custody. Police say both men admitted to stabbing Marcial, and Reyes admitted to staging the crime scene.

Reyes and Lopez have both been charged with murder.
