Police find body set on fire

Firefighters responding to a reported trash fire found a dead body in southeast Houston. Fire crews arrived at a vacant house on Madden Lane near Mykawa around 8pm Tuesday. The fire department told us someone had stabbed the victim in the chest multiple times, then set the body on fire.

The male victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene, suffered multiple burns and unknown wounds to his chest and head.

The Houston Police Department Homicide Division will take over the investigation. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
