Friendswood to vote on alcohol legalization

FRIENDSWOOD, TX City council is calling for a special election in November. Voters will decide whether to allow restaurants to sell alcohol and allow stores to sell beer and wine. Alcohol has been banned in Friendswood's downtown district since the 1960s.

Liquor stores would still be prohibited, under the proposed ordinance.
