Officer in hospital after hit and run wreck

JERSEY VILLAGE, TX Investigators say the cop was driving on Jones Road near Village Green when a Ford Crown Victoria slammed into the back of his car. The driver jumped out of his car and ran off, but police say they have a good idea on who he is. The car was a rental and they found an ID inside the vehicle.

The officer was transported to Memorial Hermann in serious, but stable condition.
