So-called 'Gateway to Houston' to remain dark

HOUSTON We've learned the fiber optic lights over the bridges on the Southwest Freeway between Mandell and Shepherd will stay off indefinitely.

In January, we told you about the problem. The Texas Department of Transportation says there is no money to replace them.

It would cost $96,000 for each of the six bridges to fix the lights.
