Corpse found after months in NYC apt.

NEW YORK Police found James Gayle's corpse Saturday at the Breukelen public housing complex. Officers had been called to investigate the smell. Police say it appears the 60-year-old died of natural causes.

New York City Housing Authority spokesman Howard Marder says officials are investigating when and how the man died, and records of any complaints aren't yet available.

Neighbor Jessie Livingston says she last saw the man in January and began noticing a "horrible" odor in February. She says she called the Housing Authority repeatedly since then, but staffers who responded didn't enter the man's apartment.
