Nightclub employee killed in shooting

HOUSTON Just before 4am Saturday, deputies were called to the LT Tranz Club on Richey Road. Three employees were reportedly shot by a customer who had been kicked out of the club following a disturbance.

One employee, James Douglas Thomas, Jr., was dead at the scene. The other two employees were transported to Ben Taub Hospital. One employee is in critical condition and the second employee is listed as stable.

Investigators with the Harris County Sheriff's Office homicide unit are conducting the investigation. The suspect is described as a medium complexioned black male, 25 years of age, 5'8" tall, medium build and short hair. A more detailed description will be released following review of surveillance video.

LT Tranz club is an after hours club. Although the club is prohibited from selling alcoholic beverages after 2am, the club remains open until 4am. This is the second shooting to have occurred at the club in the last two nights.
