At least one officer was in the car. That officer was taken to the hospital to be checked out.
Authorities were also at the scene of an officer-involved accident on the westbound lanes of the Westpark Tollway at Tanglewild. This accident happened around 7:30am. The officer apparently collided with a Volvo.
The squad car suffered massive damage. The officer was transported to a hospital. The officer's condition is unknown. No word if the other driver suffered any injuries.
At least one lane was closed as crews worked to clear the accident.
