Two killed in Baghdad bombing

BAGHDAD, Iraq Police and hospital officials say two bombs exploded a few seconds apart on Tuesday morning near a group of day laborers. They say one bomb was hidden in a food stall and the other was concealed in a nearby pile of trash.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the media.

Though sectarian violence has ebbed in Iraq, the Shiite district of Sadr City continues to be targeted. At least eight people died in a bombing there on July 9, and a blast in the district killed 78 on June 24.
