Recycling plant goes up in flames

Firefighters were on the scene of a two-alarm fire at a plastic recycling center in east Houston Saturday.The fire broke out just before 11am at the Amtech plastic recycling facility on Old Clinton Road at Shotwell. A three-alarm fire broke out just last month and left a big mess at the facility.

The building houses plastic, paper and cardboard, along with other recycle items. There were reports that a portion of the warehouse was beginning to collapse.

The cause of the fire is unknown at the time. So far, there are no reports of any injuries.
