Carjackers dump victim's body on road

July 15, 2009 9:31:15 AM PDT
Police say a man was possibly murdered for his car overnight in southeast Houston. The victim was carjacked and killed while waiting at a red light at Cullen near Almeda Genoa around midnight. Authorities say the man was in his small silver-gray car at the intersection, and so was a minivan. The man in the gray car was shot, pulled out of his vehicle and left on the street.

The minivan and someone else driving the victim's car took off, driving north on Cullen. The victim's car was then abandoned just about a half mile from that intersection.

One witness told Eyewitness News she was sitting on her porch when the incident happened.

"It was just consistent gunshots. I mean it was like, 'boom, boom, boom,' like five gunshots and then that was it," said witness Sheran Griffin.

Police don't have many details for a description of the suspects, only that they were in a dark blue minivan. Investigators are interviewing witnesses to further the investigation.
