Texas wants high-speed rail

July 14, 2009 5:33:22 PM PDT
Texas wants almost $2 billion to link Houston with several other cities using high-speed rail. The state submitted a preliminary grant application to the federal government. The money would be used to eventually link Houston, Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio. The grants are to be awarded later this year.

Texas may not get any money though. Federal guidelines favor states that have already moved toward developing high-speed rail.
