NASA partner to lay off workers

HOUSTON Houston-based United Space Alliance announced it will lay off 400 employees, including 160 in Houston. That's about five percent of the company-wide work force.

Back in February, Dick Covey, CEO of United Space Alliance, told Eyewitness News reporter Ted Oberg this could be the first of big layoffs in the company, and as many as 2,000 people could be losing their jobs as the shuttle program winds down operations.
