Authorities say three people have died after an accident during a charity motorcycle ride southeast of Dallas. A Texas Department of Public Safety spokeswoman who refused to give her name confirmed the deaths but said she had no other details on Saturday morning's accident.

Witnesses tell the Corsicana Daily Sun that several motorcyclists were struck by a pickup truck that had lost control and rolled into a group of riders.

The newspaper reported that at least two people were taken by helicopter from the scene on FM 709 in Navarro County. The motorcyclists had left Corsicana High School for a 50-mile charity ride.

Corsicana is about 55 miles from Dallas.
