Tejada, Pence meet All-Stars in St. Louie

Houston Astros outfielder Hunter Pence will join shortstop Miguel Tejada as the team representatives for this year's All-Star Game on July 14 in St. Louis. Both were named as reserves Sunday, voted in by the players.[SPORTS BLOG: Read the latest from the Eyewitness Sports team]

This is Pence's first trip to the game and he has earned it this season, batting .303 with 10 home runs (through Saturday's games).

For Tejada, it's his second straight All-Star trip as an Astro. He began Sunday hitting .325 with 6 homers and 42 RBI. 'Miggie' is also tied with starting All-Star shortstop Hanley Ramirez of the Florida Marlins for the league lead in hits. This will be the sixth time Tejada has made an all-star team.
