Dead trees to be removed in Galveston

July 6, 2009 3:47:14 AM PDT
Beginning Monday, dead and damaged trees from Hurricane Ike will be removed from Galveston. The process is expected to take two weeks. After examining the situation, the Texas Forest Service determined which trees need to come down.

The first trees that will be taken away are the ones that are in the city's right of way. New trees will be planted to replace the old ones.
