Fallen officer honored at race track

Houston police officer Henry Canales is being remembered with a special memorial by the drag racing community.Members of the Beat the Heat team organized a racing version of the missing man formation at Houston Raceway Park Saturday afternoon. Officer Canales was a dedicated member of Beat the Heat, a volunteer law enforcement program to teach teens about the dangers of illegal street racing.

"This is just our way of saying hey, family we love you. Sir, we honor you and respected you because you impacted our life," said Ted Jones of Houston Raceway Park. "It's a great way for our racers to reach into this family in their time of need."

Canales' was fatally shot during an undercover sting on Tuesday. His funeral is set for next week.
