Man shot during ambush in SW Houston

HOUSTON Around 1:30am, an SUV filled with a group of men was driving around the parking lot of the Braes Court apartments on Braeswood at Sapling Way. Witnesses said they appeared to be looking for someone. The driver of the SUV later blocked a pickup truck as it tried to exit.

Then witnesses told authorities three men jumped out of the SUV with rifles and semi-automatic weapons. They fired their weapons and the man in the pickup truck started firing a weapon as well.

The man in the truck was shot eight times and was taken to the hospital. The other gunmen got away.

Detectives are still investigating the incident.
