UTMB begins re-hiring laid off employees

GALVESTON, TX The hospital is now re-hiring many of the employees it previously had to let go. About 300 employees who were laid off following Hurricane Ike have been re-hired. Hospital officials hope that by the end of summer, they will re-hire 400 more people.

The hospital plans to re-open its emergency room on August 1. There are also plans for a new tower with 220 beds.
