Men beat lawn worker in NE Houston

Houston police are looking for two men who attacked a lawn maintenance worker in northeast Houston, and then fired at a METRO employee who tried to stop them.Jose Garcia was mowing grass off the Eastex Freeway near Bennington Thursday morning, when two men approached and started beating him. METRO employee Brenda Taylor was on the freeway and saw what was happening. She exited the freeway, turned around and started honking her horn to stop the men.

One of the suspects fired a pistol four times into Taylor's truck. She wasn't hurt.

Garcia suffered a gash over his eye. The two suspects got away.
