FBI in Houston gets new special agent in charge

WASHINGTON A statement Wednesday says Richard C. Powers is a 19-year FBI veteran who served as assistant director of the Office of Congressional Affairs at agency headquarters.

Powers from 1998 to 2004 was assigned to the FBI's Houston office.

Powers formerly was a police officer and drug task force supervisor in the Chicago area. He holds a law degree from Florida State University.
