Shots fired during wild police chase

Authorities say it started on Green Yard in northwest Harris County. A robbery suspect in a stolen car jumped out of the vehicle and tried to shoot a deputy with a shotgun. The weapon did not go off and the suspects then took off and sped down Highway 290, firing at least three shots at deputies during the pursuit.

Houston police then stopped the car with road spikes on the Highway 290 feeder at Milwee. They arrested the driver right away, but the passenger jumped out, ran across all the lanes of 290, and hid in the woods.

After a brief search, police found and arrested him as well.
