Help for those still not ready for DTV

June 9, 2009 10:09:02 AM PDT
We are just days away now from the official switch to digital television. This Friday, stations across the country, including this one, will turn off our analog signals for good. That means if you don't have a digital TV set or a convertor box, you won't be able to watch your favorite programs.

If you need a new TV now is the time to buy. The prices are down on most new sets and we even found some 42-inch HDTV sets for less than $800.

If you have questions about the DTV switch or just want to make sure you're ready, there are eight organizations here that will come to your house and make sure you're good to go.

You can also call the federal communication commission at 1-888-CALL-FCC or go to

The change to digital transmission starts this Friday morning at 6:45am.
