Give blood in honor of injured HPD officer

June 8, 2009 8:54:34 AM PDT
Houston police officers want you to come out and give blood today in honor of a fellow officer. Officer Lloyd Morrison was hit by a vehicle while working last month. The 20 year veteran is recovering in the hospital. Doctors used multiple units of blood to save his life. Officers want the community to give blood to save lives in his honor.

You can donate from 9am to 3pm today at the Houston police department on 61 Riesner Street.

Donors must be at least 17 years of age, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and be in good general health. Individuals who are 16 years old, at least 122 pounds, in good general health and have their parents' consent also may donate.

For additional information, call (713) 790-1200 or 1(888) 482-5663, or visit The Blood Center's Web site at www.giveblood.org
