The daughter's boyfriend shot the family friend once in the leg. Then he fled with the daughter. Officers have no idea why the boyfriend shot the man.
"According to the parents she advised that they had been at a party at Bear Creek Park earlier in the day and they were all together and everybody was just fine," said Sgt. Fred Gonzales with the Sheriff's Office.
The victim was taken to Ben Taub Hospital listed in stable condition. Police are still searching for the boyfriend. The family says their daughter has been dating her boyfriend for several years. They do not believe she is in danger.
