Arson investigating two separate fires

June 6, 2009 5:10:47 AM PDT
Two overnight fires may have been the result of arson. One happened in southwest Houston, the other on the south side of town. The one in southwest Houston happened around 10:30pm off Forum Park and Sugar Branch. When Houston firefighters arrived at the scene, they found an SUV and the front patio of an apartment on fire. They made a fast attack, and put out the flames before they could spread. A couple of witnesses said they saw two men running from the fire. Arson is investigating the case.

And arson detectives are also investigating a fire which happened around 1:30am off Noah and Springhill, south of Houston. A vacant house caught fire and burned to the ground. No electricity was running through the home. One firefighter hurt his knee and was treated at the scene.
