Houston area couple on missing flight

What appears to be an international tragedy has a connection to Houston. An Air France plane disappeared over the Atlantic Ocean and two of the passengers, the only Americans on board, recently lived in the Houston-area. Friends and family of Michael and Ann Harris tell us they were the only Americans on the doomed Air France flight.

The Harris' former home in The Woodlands was inundated with family and friends show up to support.

A family spokesperson tells us the couple was on assignment for Devon Energy where Michael Harris, 60, works. They were leaving Rio de Janeiro for Spain with a layover in Paris. The family says that's about the only information Air France has released to them.

But neighbors on their street can't believe that a missing plane from Brazil has touched their block. Maryann Evans, who lives just a few doors down says Ann, 54, was an unforgettable person

"[She had a] great big personality," said Evans. "[She was] funny and had beautiful red hair. She was just a lovely sweet person, everything you would want in a friend. Just a fine person."

The family requested not to be interviewed saying they are in shock right now and at a loss for words.
