Mother jailed after daughter, 12, found dead

HILLSBORO, TX Debra Janelle Jeter remained jailed Saturday, with her bail set at $1.5 million. She was charged with murder and attempted capital murder. A county dispatcher told Waco TV station KCEN that the girls were stabbed.

Hill County Sheriff Jeffery Lyon said the woman called a 911 operator Friday night to report she had "just killed her children."

Deputies, Hillsboro police and state troopers went to an abandoned farm house on U.S. 77 and found Jeter in the garage with her hands raised above the head. Lyon said the 12-year-old girl was found dead inside the house. Her 13-year-old sister was found critically injured in a bedroom.

The older girl was airlifted to a Dallas hospital, where she is in stable condition, a Hill County Sheriff's Office dispatcher told the Waco Tribune-Herald.
