Girl escapes would-be abductor

Parents are being warned after a elementary school student was the victim of an attempted abduction.According to police, a seven-year-old girl was walking to Sanchez Elementary School on Berkley in southeast Houston when she was approached by a stranger. A witness described the man as Hispanic, unknown age, wearing blue jeans and possibly a black Astros jersey, with a blue backpack and riding a blue bike.

The little girl was able to get away unharmed. Additional HPD officers are patrolling the area around the school. HISD sent a message to parents, making them aware of the situation.
